At COBCO, sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) are at the heart of everything we do. We recognize that our role extends beyond business; it is about making a meaningful and lasting impact on the world around us. Through our commitment to sustainability, we strive to address pressing environmental challenges, support local communities, and uphold the highest standards of governance and ethical conduct.
We protect the environment
Our commitment to environmental protection focuses on three core areas including climate protection, water protection and circular economy.
Climate protection
In line with our sustainability goals, COBCO is deeply committed to reducing its carbon footprint. We integrate renewable energy sources, improve energy efficiency, and adopt advanced technologies to combat climate change. By harnessing Morocco’s rich renewable energy potential, COBCO aims to power 100% of its operations with green energy by 2026—substantially reducing emissions and supporting the global shift to a low-carbon economy.
Water protection
Water is a vital resource, and COBCO is dedicated to its responsible management. We invest in advanced desalination systems, world-class water treatment technologies, and efficient wastewater management practices. These efforts help safeguard ecosystems, promote water conservation, and ensure reliable and sustainable access for future generations, aligning with our broader environmental stewardship principles.
Circular economy
At COBCO, we are committed to fostering a circular economy by managing the whole life cycle of operations. We embed resource recovery and recycling into every stage of production and continuously innovate to improve efficiency and reduce reliance on external resources. Our efforts also include closed-loop offerings, through which we recover valuable metals from used batteries. This model enhances environmental sustainability, boosts economic efficiency by cutting costs and waste, and ensures resource conservation by keeping critical materials in use—reinforcing our long-term sustainability goals.
We source responsibly
We operate with transparency, accountability, and strong ethical standards. As a company co-founded by CNGR and AL MADA, we uphold the highest principles of responsible sourcing and supply chain integrity.
All raw materials are ethically sourced, aligned with international standards, and support sustainable practices. Our supplier partnerships are built on transparency, fairness, and shared growth, strengthening a resilient and sustainable supply chain.
A risk management and traceability framework ensures compliance with all relevant regulations. Our Supplier Code of Conduct reinforces our commitment by setting clear expectations for ethical and sustainable practices, ensuring our suppliers align with our values and contribute to a socially and environmentally responsible supply chain.

We contribute to society and community
At COBCO, we aim to foster long-term growth, create shared value, and enhance the well-being of the communities where we operate.
We understand that thriving communities are the foundation of sustainable development. Therefore, we are committed to investing in initiatives that empower local communities, enhance educational opportunities, and support Morocco’s efforts in building a sustainable battery ecosystem.

Compliance and governance
At COBCO, we are unwavering in our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of assurance and corporate governance. Given the intricate nature of our supply chain and operational processes, a comprehensive and robust framework is essential to effectively mitigate risks, prevent fraudulent activities, and ensure complete transparency.
